Condition Standards

Every bag listed by The Crest Vault is reviewed for authenticity, structure, function, visible wear, and included accessories before it is offered for sale.

How We Describe Condition

Pre-owned luxury bags are not factory-new items. Our role is to make the condition clear enough for a client to understand the exact piece they are purchasing, not a generic model reference.

• Excellent: Minimal visible wear, strong structure, clean interior, and hardware or leather marks that are minor under normal use.
• Very good: Light to moderate signs of use such as small corner wear, faint leather marks, minor hardware scratches, or gentle interior wear.
• Good: Noticeable but acceptable wear, which may include visible corner rubbing, surface marks, patina, interior marks, shape softening, or hardware wear.
• Fair: Heavier wear or functional considerations. These pieces are listed only when the condition is clearly documented and still meets our boutique standard.

What We Check

Before listing, our team reviews the bag from multiple angles and records item-specific details that matter to buyers of Hermès, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, and Dior bags.

• Exterior leather, canvas, quilting, stitching, glazing, corners, edges, handles, and straps.
• Interior lining, pockets, odor, stains, pen marks, rubbing, and loose or damaged areas.
• Hardware finish, engraving, zippers, locks, clasps, snaps, feet, chains, and closure function.
• Structure, shape, symmetry, date codes, serials, stamps, labels, and brand-specific identifiers.
• Included accessories such as dust bags, boxes, cards, receipts, straps, keys, clochettes, and certificates when available.

Photography And Disclosure

Product photos are part of the condition record. We aim to show the actual item clearly, including visible wear where it affects expectation or value. Minor lighting differences, screen color differences, and normal pre-owned characteristics may still appear in person.

Before Shipment

Before an order leaves us, the item is checked again against the listing photos, condition notes, included accessories, and applicable authentication or quality-control documentation. Eligible orders receive relevant evidence from any two of Entrupy, CheckCheck, and Legitmark where applicable to that exact product.

When We Decline Inventory

We do not accept every bag offered to us. Items may be declined for unresolved authenticity concerns, inconsistent identifiers, severe odor, undisclosed repairs, missing critical details, functional issues, or condition problems that do not meet our standard.
